Friends Forever

My longtime friend, Jen, her husband Jay, and daughter Story were here visiting the last couple of days from St. Louis. Jen and I became friends when I changed schools in the 7th grade and she made me promise to be her best friend (she needed a new one at the time:) We even got the cheesy charms and wrote journal entries back and forth. Our friendship survived high school and even 3 years of rooming together in college. We share tons of fun memories...although I seem to have a much better memory. Most importantly though, she showed me the love of Christ at a time when I needed it the most. I love her like crazy and am always glad when we are able to spend time together. Miller and Story exchanged a few kisses, which I am sure could lead to an arranged marriage. Here are a few pics from their short trip.

Tumbling Time

The boys each had their gymnastics classes tonight and I did my best to take a few pictures without looking like an overbearing mom. It is just so hilarious it is hard to resist:) They both love it and it is good for each of them in different ways. For Tate, it forces him to face his fears and try new things even if they seem scary. For Miller, it is just a great way to run around and burn some excess energy. They really look forward to it each week.

The glares and fuzziness of the pictures is from the glass, I was sitting outside of the room.

Funny Boys

Two entertaining pictures from this weekend...the first is both boys in the downstairs bathroom having a snack. We were having a lazy morning at home before Tate's game and at about 10:00 they asked for goldfish and juice. I didn't know where they had gone until I found them in the tub. When I walked in and discovered their hiding place Miller said, "Don't turn it on." I guess they didn't want to eat soggy goldfish:)

The other funny moment was Miller trying to do the right thing while still getting what he wanted. We have found that if he leaves his beloved "Doggy" upstairs in his bed that he tends to suck his two favorite fingers less. So we are always having to remind him to put Doggy night-night or at least on the stairs. Here he is straddling the line...obeying the rules but still having his special time with Doggy.

Another Soccer Season

Tate had his first game of the fall season this morning with his Y soccer team. We thought it might get rained out, the weather report seemed to say so, but we had a rain free game. The game was pretty much dominated by the other team, but at the age of four Tate didn't seem to notice or mind. He did have two respectable goals for himself. Miller wore Tate's jersey from last season so that he could look like a legitimate player also. So, we will now be spending the next seven Saturday mornings at the soccer field:)
