Thomas the Train

On Friday, my sister and I took the kids to ride on Thomas the Train. With kindergarten quickly approaching for Tate, I am making the most of our fun Fridays before "big school" begins. The weather was a little chilly, but that didn't seem to dampen anyones spirits for the day. We had a great time!

Girls Visit

Three of my closest high school friends, Heather, Jenny, and Jen, ventured to my house this week for our annual reunion. I look forward to being together every year and this year I got to play hostess. We went up on the mountain to walk the trails, shopped, went to a movie, ate out, and shared lots of laughter. We had one minor glitch when Jen got sick while she was here, but still made the most of our time together. I am already looking forward to our next reunion...

This is what happens when Florida girls try to decipher a map of mountain trails:)

Chattanooga

This week is the boys spring break from school so we decided to make a short, overnight trip to Chattanooga. We made the most of our two days there and went to the Choo Choo, the Aquarium, Rock City, and Ruby Falls. Tate loved the model train at the Choo Choo and Miller liked the gnomes "hidden" in Rock City. It was a great family trip and just enough time to be away together.

Snowy Morning

We woke up to a beautiful sight this morning as snow had dusted our yard and flakes were still falling. Usually when it snows here it doesn't stick, but this morning it actually did. So, after breakfast we bundled up and ventured outside. The boys wanted to make tracks with the Jeep and Gator which turned out to be a great idea because then they didn't get their socks and shoes wet. We lasted about 10 minutes and then came back inside to the warm heat. We are wimps I suppose! Later when we came out of church the sun was shining brightly and all the snow had melted. I am glad we enjoyed it while it lasted!

Miller's Third Birthday

We had a great celebration on Saturday for Miller turning three. I had prayed all week that the weather would be nice enough to have the party outside. Miller was insistent that we have the party at home, and I was just hoping that we wouldn't have 10 kids INSIDE the house. So, we had beautiful weather and also at Miller's request all of his friends wore costumes. Need a I say again how much this boy loves dress-up? We had a fun party and it is unbelievably hard to believe 3 years have gone by!

We also celebrated with cookies at school on Thursday. Miller called that his "cookie birthday."

Valentines Weekend

Travis was traveling for work this weekend so I decided to take the boys to Birmingham on Saturday. We went to the McWane Center and saw all of the cool dinosaurs and fish, and the kids even did a weather report. It was a fun way to spend the day rather than be at home alone on Valentine's Day.

And, Friday night we were at a friends house celebrating a couple of February birthdays. Tate put his arm around Miller while they sang Happy Birthday. My friend Katie had her camera and couldn't resist capturing the moment. Also, all of the kids sat together to watch a movie, it was pretty cute!

Double Date

We spent a lot of time outside this weekend enjoying the unseasonably warm weather. Our next door neighbor, Kate, had her friend Winnie over to play who is also in Tate's class at school. So, the boys wanted to show off their wheels and the girls were happy to be their passengers. Miller has quite a crush on Winnie, she always says hello to him at school and he is very smitten by this older woman's attention. I know how soon it will be that they will both be driving real cars and going out on real dates. But, for now, these moments make for pretty cute pictures:)
