Beach Trip

We returned yesterday from our second annual Fort Morgan beach trip with some of our Huntsville friends. The weather was actually really nice, we were afraid it was going to be cold. We relaxed on the beach, played games, went shopping, and enjoyed great food. And of course there were lots of laughs!

The Lord's Servant

Travis' mentor RV Brown was in town back in January (I just got pictures back from FCA) It is always so great for us to spend time with RV, you will never meet someone who has more boldness for the Gospel. Look at the size of those arms, wouldn't you do what he says?!

Leap Day Fun Friday

We amped up our Fun Friday for Leap Day and went to the Children's Museum in Chattanooga with Ayers and Addie Grace. Everyone got to paint, dig for dinosaur bones, play instruments and get wet at the water table. It was a rainy day outside, so the museum was a perfect spot. We had a great time!

Miller turns 2!

I don't know how it is possible, time has gone by so fast, but we celebrated Miller's second birthday yesterday at the Chick Fil A indoor playground. We invited some of his little friends...Sam Philley, Ayers and Addie Grace Leggett came to help us celebrate. Miller was a little overwhelmed with all the fanfare, but somehow the balloons were the highlight. As with all of our birthday parties thus far, we had our fair share of tears:) But it was still fun!

Miller was not impressed with the birthday singing.

He waited until we were back at home to enjoy his piece of cake.

Going South

We timed our trip to Orlando perfectly, just in time to escape some very cold weather in Huntsville. And, Tate went on his first trip to Disney World! We had an action-packed day and when we asked Tate what his favorite part was he said, "Everything!" There is nothing better than seeing the world through your child's eyes. My dad went with us and brought along his daughter Megan who was a great tour guide.

Miller got to spend the day with Grandma and go to the pet store...which is as fun as Disney in his little world:)

Miller loves my mom's little dog whose name is Ivory but he calls him "Eyebrow." Here he is in the dog's bed.

We were also able to visit with my friend Heather and her two little girls, Syndie and Mackinley. All four of the kids had a great time together. The current plan is to arrange their marriages:)

New Years in Nashville

We have made it a tradition the last few years to bring in the New Year in Nashville with our friends Brent and Julie. This year we decided it would be even more fun to do it without our little ones. So, the Alstons were very gracious to keep Tate and Miller for a few days so that we could have some free time. We went to the Opryland Hotel, shopped, ate out, and visited with a couple of our other college friends. It was a blast and we are anxious to be reunited with the boys tomorrow!

Celebrating Jesus' Birthday!

We had a wonderful Christmas and were able to see both the sides of our family, which is a blessing in itself. We spent time in Birmingham and Georgia. We started off our travels at the Birmingham Zoo for Zoo Light Safari. Everything gets decorated with lights, including the train!

Then we were off to Georgia where we also went to see the lights at Callaway Gardens.

The boys went by the fire station in Hamilton to see Santa and the fire trucks. Of course, the fire engines trumped seeing Santa:)

Then we were back in Birmingham for Christmas Eve, here's the whole gang...

And finally back home for Santa's arrival and birthday cake for baby Jesus
