Last night the Halloween festivities began with the fall festival at our church. They had big inflatables and fun games. Tate jumped right in, but Miller wasn't too sure at first. It was so fun to see everyone dressed up in their costumes, and now the deluge of chocolate and candy can begin!

Buddies
Within the past year or so Tate has started having friends come over after school. He and his buddy, Jack, have been in the same class for four years and seem to be constant companions at school. So, yesterday Jack came home with us to play again. I have often said that friends are God's gift to us, they are his way of expressing His love for us in a physical form here on earth. I am extremely thankful for the friendships He has blessed me with in each stage of my life, and it is fun to see Tate forging friendships of his own.

Family Visit
My niece, Allison, and her soccer team had a game here today, so the whole family traveled to see us. My mom was also in Birmingham for the weekend and we were able to visit with her, too. After the game, all the kids came to play at our house and we had a nice dinner together. Tate is convinced his cousins' house is more fun than ours, but seemed to enjoy having everyone on his "turf."

Spiderman times two!
My mom gave the boys Spiderman pajamas last Christmas and Miller is just now big enough to fit into his pair. As usual, they thought it was fun to be "twins." As soon as Miller got home from preschool today he wanted to put them back on. I have a feeling he would wear them everywhere if I would let him:)

Fun in the Ham
We went to Birmingham yesterday to visit the zoo and see my nephew play football. It is hard to believe that sweet little Mike, the child who first made me an aunt, is old enough to play middle school football! The zoo was fun as always. Tate feed the lorikeets which is always a highlight.
This particular bird kept squawking in Tate's ear. I told Tate that he must be trying to tell him something.
The birds loved Aunt Katherine, too.

Tate Farms Field Trip
Tate and I went to the pumpkin patch at Tate Farms with his preschool class on Tuesday. It is one of my favorite things to do this time of year and I hope to take the whole family back before Halloween. Tate and his friends played in the hay, jumped in the corn crib, and picked a pumpkin from the patch right off the vine. It was a warm day but still beautiful weather.
